Efficient Flow of Power Through Transmission & Distribution Systems
Electricity generation begins at power plants where generators typically produce electricity at around 25kV. To efficiently transport this power over long distances, the voltage is stepped up using high-voltage transformers and sent through transmission lines. These high-voltage transmission systems minimize energy losses and ensure stable delivery across regions.
Once the electricity reaches its destination, it enters the distribution system, where the voltage is stepped down through distribution transformers to safer, usable levels. This energy is then delivered to various end users—including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, factories, and households. The transmission and distribution systems form a critical infrastructure that ensures reliable and efficient delivery of electricity from generation sources to consumers.
